Nolan Helmets - Why Are They Everywhere?

If you’re in to motorcycling at all then you’ll know that Nolan helmets have a reputation for quality and value for money. Is it just me or do they seem to be everywhere you look these days? Even Casey Stoner sports one!

Why are they so popular?

They aren’t the cheapest but they aren’t the most expensive either.

Maybe it comes back to the old adage “If you’ve got a $50 head, get a $50 lid”.

Nolan helmets aren’t for those folks with a $50 head.

Half Of Europe

Over the last thirty years or so Nolan have managed to secure around 50% of the motorcycle helmet market in Europe. Yep, nearly half of all lids sold in Europe are Nolan Helmets – that’s a staggering figure. So they must be doing something right then.

Part of their success is down to the range of lids they offer. From the real retro Cruise half-helmet with it’s chrome colored rivets all the way up to the X-1002 which is a high quality modular helmet, equipped with a VPS sunshield and the SL system which allows single-hand (left side) or two-hand release of the chin bar.

Always Connected

Along with the scope of their range, there’s always the world-famous N-Com communication system. Their blurb says:

… you'll always be connected to the world. No matter where you are, whether you're riding your motorcycle or scooter, you can use the N-Com system to communicate on your mobile phone or listen to music on your MP3 player, or to connect to a Bike-to-Bike Radio to communicate with other bikes … Moreover, you can talk via intercom with your passenger (Bluetooth or cable).

So, they like it anyway – more importantly though it’s the best selling intercom system for bikers right now. It’s easy to install and the Nolan N102 (full face flip-up) and N42 (jet) helmets are already designed for installation.

Maybe it’s easier to see why they have around 50% of the European market then.
